Hi All,
Been a tense couple of days out here as there was a large tropical low developing over me. It’s looks like it’s going to turn into a proper cyclone today but the good news is it’s now projected to track south and away from me.
Been sitting more or less in the same spot of Guandalcanal the last day or so as all the wind seems to have been sucked away. The sunrises have been really bizarre, lots of deep pinks and reds, the clouds thick and ominous looking. Hoping to get moving properly here again soon as the further I make north the less likely I’ll be to catch another system. If i can get some normal wind back should be in somewhere right around new years.
All for now, back to it out here - Emily
I’m still at sea.
This post is from my first voyage, sailing alone around the world from 2009 to 2015. These days I live aboard El Dorado in France and send dispatches from the boat.
